چکیده
Aquaponics is the integration of farming fish with plants where excreted nutrients from are taken up by plants. Thus, aquaponics may enhance aquaculture sustainability and productivity. In this study, largemouth bass Micropterus salmoides juveniles were cultured in a recirculating system (RAS) or aquaponic for two months. Each was identical, but within system, lemongrass spring onion without gravel 2x2x2 factorial design. After 2 months, there no difference survival, growth, feeding efficiencies condition indicator either despite nitrate-N being consistently higher RAS, particularly day 48 onwards. Water iron total phosphorus similar among each system. Bacterial diversity lower Streptomyces only detected RAS which contributes to off-flavors. Spring wet weight leaf width values significantly greater when media had shorter roots. Lemongrass length also media, There various significant main effects on mineral composition, iron. Generally, both zinc accumulated roots plant while potassium leaves. onions richer source calcium than lemongrass. Magnesium generally leaves might be due having surface area nutrient uptake. Overall, M. suitable high value species grow using enhanced productivity as well their magnesium contents. The absence Steptomyces have implications post-harvest quality that should receive additional attention. • Largemouth growth/feeding between Nitrate-N Aquaponic more bacterial diversity, off-flavor bacteria found compared

Survival of Foul-Hooked Largemouth Bass(Micropterus salmoides)
We conducted a field experiment to determine the survival rate of foul-hooked (hooked external to the oral cavity) largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) caught and released by recreational anglers. Of 42 largemouth bass caught with hard-plastic baits containing three treble hooks, 15 were hooked only within the mouth and 27 had at least one hook penetrating the external surface of the fish (i...
متن کاملPotential Use of Proximate and Fatty Acid Composition to Distinguish Be- tween Cultured and Wild Largemouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides)
Cultured largemouth bass (LMB) cannot be sold as food in some lucrative markets due to regulatory restrictions that protect wild LMB. Distinguishing between cultured and wild fish could open food markets for cultured fish. Wild LMB eat freshwater fish and cultured LMB eat diets high in marine fish meal and oil, which should produce differences in flesh composition. We analyzed the proximate and...
متن کاملATTRACTANTS IN PLANT PROTEIN-BASED DIETS FOR THE CARNIVOROUS LARGEMOUTH BASS Micropterus salmoides
Adding attractants can improve acceptability of artificial diets by carnivorous fish fry and fingerlings, increasing intake of unpalatable feeds and improving growth rate, while reducing feeding time and feeding wastes. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of levels of inclusion of different attractants in plant protein-based diets on the performance of largemouth bass Micropterus salmoides...
متن کاملCloning, characterization, expression, and feeding response of thyrotropin receptor in largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides).
Thyrotropin receptor (TSHR) is a G-protein-coupled receptor that regulates the synthesis, storage, and secretion of thyroid hormones in the thyroid tissue. The aims of the present study were to characterize the full-length TSHR cDNA in largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides), and to determine the TSHR gene transcription levels in different tissues. In addition, the response of TSHR transcriptio...
